So whilst compiling my Spring Summer 16 wardrobe I don't live in a hot country like most of my family (Houston & LA if you are wondering) so I need to plan for all weather occasions be it hot, cold, wet, gale force wind and all of this could happen in just one afternoon! So the outfit I have pulled together for you lovely lot today is a 'Spring I am ready for anything you have to throw at me' outfit!
Starting with the overall look I know it's quite dark and not very spring and full of colours but I just haven't been feeling all the colour love yet but I did throw in a splash of cream to brighten the whole outfit up. I also am well aware a key RULE in the fashion world is not to wear navy and black together but who in there right minds created that silly rule, I love it and think it makes my navy trainers really pop especially as they are a mix of different fabrics as well with leather and I think suede. Kurt Geiger have really got the sport luxe feel going on with these flatforms especially with the added touch of there name written in gold across the side.
Let's talk a bit more about these trainers or should I say flatforms, I am usually quite traditional with my show collection, no wacky heels or massive accessories lining my feet but when I saw these babies on the Kurt Geiger website I thought it could be a trend that is coming back for 2016 (it kinda came in for 2015 but disappeared, lets not dwell on that though) and I love the snake print embossed on them, oh so pretty! Usually flatforms look quite plastic but I loved how these looked quite normal and I felt quite 'cool' which I don't think I pull of that well if never. I can pull off girly, flirty and fun but cool is not usually a word I associate with my outfit choices HA. These ones are called Ladbrook and come in a range of colours. I did not actually realise before but Kurt Geiger has a huge trainer range and some pretty snazzy brands alongside their own collection like Michael Kors and Converse.
I teamed my Flatform with some thigh tights for two reasons: 1. To keep warm 2. If it magically got really hot I could just whip them off and get my legs some much needed sun (FYI that did not happen on this shoot!)
I added two TopShop numbers a bodycon striped mini skirt and a very flattering loose black top that covers any unwanted tummy :-) you could also tuck it in if your feeling sassy.
I usually team this too with a long chunky necklace but I am in love with the choker look at the moment, although I do feel like I am trying to be from TOWIE as the entire cast seem to be wearing them... This lilac number is from Boohoo for only £3 BARGAIN. Another steal is my duster jacket, a Primark special from Selfridges, yes Selfridges now stocks Primark and you do not need to hunt through all the rubbish as they have curated the best looks. I feel the coat looks much more than £15 and feels like silk, sooo soft. The only downside is that it is not that warm so your going to have to go for style over comfort.
So to pull the outfit together I added a pop of colour with an oversized Marc by Marc Jacobs handbag. I have so much love for this bags, it is a beautiful shade, fits my life in it and it's wipe clean so it can not get dirty! I call it my fancy beach bag even though I have never taken it to the beach but I feel like it would be perfect as easy to get rid of sand.
