I can’t believe that my Thailand
posts have taken this long but hopefully it is perfect timing for anyone
looking for their next holiday either some Winter sun or looking towards 2018. I will do a full run down of my itinerary but
first of all I will go highlight the first placed I stayed at: The Sarojin. If I could only use one word to describe The Sarojin it would
be, luxurious.
If you are looking to
relax and unwind surrounded by luxury the Sarojin is the perfect spot when
visiting Khoa Lak. The resort is nestled among tropical botanical gardens
filled with flowers, frogs and butterflies. The Sarojin prides itself on offering an exemplary service with their ethos of creating an experience
reminiscent of staying at a friend’s private estate.
Best for: Couples and Romance.
Location:
Based in Khoa Lak it borders a beautiful national park, Phang Nga Bay and
the world famous dive spot of the Similan and Surin Islands. At the resort, you also get access to an 11 km private beach.
Nearest Airport:
Phuket Airport is about 1 hour and 30 min drive. You can pre-book with
the Sarojin and they will be on hand with cold face towels, a selection of
drinks, free wifi and you can even pre-order food to your room for when you
arrive – highly recommended.
Rooms: There are a total
of 56 rooms but even when full the resort still seems tranquil due to the spacious
nature of the resort. This may not be an added bonus if
you are going on a family vacay but what adds to the relaxing nature of this
stay is no children under 10 years are around in the resort. I stayed in a
Garden Residence room which comes with a little terrace outside and
inside is one large room separated with a few part walls which gives a feeling
of a lot more space. The most important part of this room to me was the
bathroom…just wait for it! With a waterfall shower and a bath filled with
flowers in the centre of the room you can't help but snap a photo.
Facilities/Activities
on site:
The Service:
the service is the best I have ever seen at a hotel, the staff go out of their way and there looked like there was at least one stall member to every guest. They are always at hand to make your stay the best it can
be.
Food and drink: Based on site is
two restaurants Fiscus which sits next to a magnificent lotus pond which is
where you would enjoy your al a carte breakfast and for lunch or dinner you can
dine at Fiscus or beside the Andaman Sea at Edge Restaurant. At either of these
restaurants you know you will get fresh local ingredients bursting with
flavour.
If you wanted to go ‘all out’ you could experience
one of their private dining options with under a jungle waterfall, on a private isle, secluded white sand beach or by the pool the Sarojin will make it happen.
Pathways Spa: Pathways is a
secluded spa haven luxuriously integrated with the
natural surroundings and the sounds of the Andaman Sea. I would recommend the Aroma massage.
Activities off site: There are plenty of activities to do around the resort from exploring the magroves and waterways of Khao Lak on pleat boat with Monkeys jumping over head. You could also take a bike and cycle to the local waterfall, dive at the Similan and Surin Island.
Tip
You do pay a premium on everything here so be prepared
to pay London prices for food and drinks.
Room Rate: Rooms start from
£149 // TBH 6,728 this is for two people sharing a Garden Residence room which
is where I stayed.
You also get included the à la carte breakfast served all day with sparkling wine.
