With the Royal Baby making the UK love everything British, the Kay
family also did something very quintessentially British, with an alfresco Afternoon
Tea in london at Mews of Mayfair.
This alfresco dining area is hidden down the back street of Mayfair nestled
between Elemis and Victoria Secret on New Bond Street
and with the sun shining there was no reason not to sit outside especially with
heaters and blankets and wanting to show off my new Shade Station Ray Bans
– love them!
Although this afternoon tea is served in a very traditional format
with the three tiered plates, it has a twist which I liked, you don’t just have
the same three types of sandwiches but a salmon poppy-seed bagel, chicken
ceaser wrap entwined with traditional sandwiches; scones with delicious
homemade strawberry jam and clotted cream and some amazing cakes including green
and pink macaroons and Battenberg.
All this talk is making me hungry but I cannot forget the tea, the
tea brand is Rare Tea Co which
cleanse the palette. We had Earl Grey and a herbal blend but if Tea is not to
your fancy you can of course get a glass of Veuve Clicquot.
I am always on the hunt for the best afternoon tea in London and Mews Of
Mayfair has definitely hit the spot.
Served between 2.30 - 5pm £32.50 with a
glass of bubbles £4.5
